we had our end of year ‘ball’ (hehe) last night.
I won’t ramble on but it was lovely. I love so many of the people in my year and when it sinks in that I’ll probably never see most of them again I may have a little cry.
this is me and Olivia. I am significantly taller than her, as may be apparent

eurovision sums up everything I am proud of about europe

i.e everyone is slightly camp, disorganised and utterly mental

Moldova’s hit this year included the line ‘you haven’t seen before how looks the trumpet’ and almost every entry had their own disastrous dance routines. However nothing will beat the 90 year old Russian nuns who baked fuckin’ cakes on stage while singing about ‘disco disco everybody dance’

no one must tell my dad how much I like Pink Floyd because he gets all embarrassing and ‘proud’
(or genesis, or neil young or the beatles for that matter)
but I love Pink Floyd.

so I have had four very good days in a row
first it was my 18th birthday and I drank sangria in sociology and my teachers exploded a bottle of lemonade over themselves. On wednesday I had a chemistry exam that wasn’t too awful and came home and read my new books in the SUNSHINE!
yesterday I finished school (okay, sixth form) forever. We went to school and had general revelries, went to a field and opened Lydia’s memory box full of things we’d made and general hilarious trinkets from the last seven years, hence this wonderful photo of me in a paper hat and a tie. Then went to the pub and I bought alcohol because I COULD. Then me and Tim went to a surprise birthday party (not for us) and then to the other pub for the quiz. It was a brilliant, really lovely day.
Then today I went to the pub (another one) with my parents and my grandparents and bought ALCOHOL because I CAN and sat in the sun and talked about stupid things I did when I was a kid.
Anyway I’ve had a wonderful few days and this wall of text is to compensate for my lack of blog action due to busy-ness. Love me.

If I had to pick my favourite bit from all the Russell Howard and Jon Richardson show podcasts, this would be it. This entire show (09/12/2007) was gold.

I’d hate to be a duck..

things I have done recently
  • on thursday I went to a funeral for someone I’d never met (don’t ask) and met a very interesting American woman who told me all about living in New York and her organic farming project in Majorca
  • on friday I had a chemistry mock that went so badly it was past funny and into purely depressing. I also went to a 30th birthday party with a load of sensible adults, at which I tried to make my own cocktail but didn’t put the lid on the shaker. Cosmopolitan everywhere. Also got stuck upstairs because I couldn’t work the stair gate thing they to stop their BABY escaping. Felt stupid.
  • today I bought more new books from a charity shop, and watched phantom of the opera for the first time ever (shamefully late in my lifetime)

my live has got progressively less weird over the last few days.

(don’t worry, I’m going to work tomorrow where the madness will begin again)
